Health & Safety Management System (continued)

Health & Safety Management System and General Health & Safety Risk Assessment

ANNUAL PROGRAMME

First Visit

An assessment will be carried out of the work place and work activities as appropriate to the client's instructions. This will involve an inspection of the client's premises and work activities, and a review of the available health and safety documentation.

A verbal report of the findings and issues requiring immediate attention will be given at the end of the visit and will be followed up with a written General Risk Assessment which will be delivered at the second visit. This will assist the client in meeting the requirements of the Management of Health & Safety at Work Regulations 1999, regulation 3.

The General Health & Safety Risk Assessment may identify the need for additional hazard specific risk assessments covering such areas as the control of substances hazardous to health and manual handling operations. Any of the client's activities away from the premises will be risk assessed through interviews with employees and management during the site visit. Visits to other locations, further work activity assessments and hazard specification assessments can be arranged but additional costs may be charged.

Information will also be gathered to include in the Health & Safety Management System.
The Health & Safety Management System will comprise:-

  • A health and safety policy statement
  • The client's health and safety organisational arrangements and responsibilities of key personnel
  • Policies and procedures for the implementation of the client's health and safety policy.
  • A Health & Safety Handbook for Employees
